Ecclesiastes3:17am saturday, 8th september
9:7-11:
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do. Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun — all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and your toilsome labor under the sun. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

I have seen something else under the sun:
The race is not to the swift
    or the battle to the strong,
nor does food come to the wise
    or wealth to the brilliant
    or favor to the the learned;
but time and chance happen to them all.
Amen.

where in the Bible do you find that the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong but to the one that endure until the end?

As written above, that quote starts in the Book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 9, verse 11, but the end, "to him that endures to the end", was added by Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism.

I also wanted to know where people got "to him that endureth to the end" from? God's word doesn't need adding or subtracting to. We better be careful of what we say God say, b/c we will be accounted for it. Now everone is saying God said that. That's why we have to study the word of God for ourselves. It sounds nice, but it's not what God said at the end of that scripture.

I don't think they were adding to the bible, what I believe is that they are encouraging those who are slow and weak not to be discouraged by those who are fast and strong. This race with Christ is not going to be given to those who are faster than other nor is it given to those who are strong than others but to those who hold out until the end. The race is not over, even the fastest person gets tired and the same said about the strong, they even get weak along the way. There will be problems that we face daily and situations that are too strong for us to handle but if you can endure till the very end you are sure to win
