Quiet, my soul. Dreams shall
take flight at unknown moments,
carrying you aloft when you
least expect. You will never be
ready enough, then, when the
fantastic appears before you.
I think you cannot prepare for it:
do not sit and wait, for nothing
comes to those who expect to be
surprised. Go about living life,
do what you need to do to survive;
prepare for the ordinary, for that
may indeed be all that will be.
Fools will say, "I am special,"
but the wise man considers it
not of his own hand when destiny
calls him. Be of good heart, and
say to yourself when you glimpse
the shadow of a dream cast
upon your day: "Quiet, my soul."
