This one is from the Watchmen:
"Heard joke once:

Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain.

Doctor says, 'Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up.'

Man bursts into tears. Says, 'But, doctor... I am Pagliacci.'"

 - Alan Moore
I always found this passage to be a profound expression of the human condition. But that might just be me. "I am Pagliacci": it goes into the question, also quoted from the same comic book series, "Who watches the watchmen?" Who is the authority to answer to, and where is the authority to go when he doesn't know what to do? Where is Pagliacci to go to get cured of his depression, when he himself is the cure? We are none of us strong enough to be Atlas, with the world on our backs.... Pagliacci, I say take the night off. Go watch the show and watch how much the less it is with the understudy in your role as the great clown. One can only hope that that will pick you up, if only for a little, if only for a night.

but that's still not an answer, i understand that's not what you were trying to give but it just goes to show that like most things in life, anything if you question it enough...will never have an answer. everything is always up in the air and that makes me feel so uneasy, just floating thru life... nothing is completely what it seems because knowone really knows do they!?

Reminds me of the old fables of the shoemaker's family who goes barefoot while he toils for others. Reality is harsh and has a way of eroding into even the finast fascades. What greater living fairy tale of our time was the marriage of Princess Diana. Harsh realities of life transformed the living happily ever after in tradegy and ultimatly death.

Both of the comments abow explains what I too feel. But one really just have to make the best of every situation, however hopeless it may seem. That or lay down to die.I always try to keep in mind that less than hope is hopeless ..
